Due to an overwhelmingly high demand for our medical care, we have put a hold on our surgical and dental procedures in order to fulfill this growing need for urgent medical attention and parental support.
We will continue to provide comprehensive surgical and dental examinations and support you and your pets throughout the planning process, and offer realistic and seamless solutions.
As a result, we have thoughtfully curated collaborations with specific near-by facilities whom we trust, share similar values, and have you and your pet’s best interest and overall experience as our top priority.
We have generously arranged a unique voucher system to allow a seamless transfer of care, without the burden of redundant costs (see below for details). Our collaboration veterinarians have extensive surgical training with capabilities of performing complicated soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, in a general practice setting (in our opinion, are the best in the area!).
As one of the many challenges of a solo-doctor practice, we are working diligently to eventually provide in-house dental and surgical care in the future. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
*The voucher allows for reimbursement of consultation fee at the time of planned routine surgery or dental procedure. The consultation fee associated with the collaboration facility will be applied to the surgical/dental invoice as a credit, at the time of planned services. Some exclusions and exceptions may apply. Physical copy of the signed voucher is required. Terms of service are subject to change.
Sunset Veterinary Center has a strict no-show / cancellation policy. In order to ensure that we are available to provide services to pets in need and as common courtesy, we ask all parents to promptly notify our staff if you are running late or unable to make it to your scheduled appointment. We understand life happens and changes in plans are sometimes unavoidable. However, failure to notify our staff of rescheduling and cancellation may significantly and negatively impact another sick pet’s ability to receive urgent medical care and attention. Violation of this policy may be subject to future scheduling/booking-fees in the amount of the consultation fee as a deposit/prepayment that may be used towards the upcoming visit.
"Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease in pets in the United States and many other parts of the world. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs and associated blood vessels of affected pets, causing severe lung disease, heart failure and damage to other organs in the body.
The mosquito plays an essential role in the heartworm life cycle.
Heartworm disease is a serious, progressive disease. The earlier it is detected, the better the chances the pet will recover."
